SWARTHMORE, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Meet on Monday night.
Sean Biehn (jr. Edgewater Park, NJ/Burlington City) won the javelin with a throw of 197’ 10” (60.29 meters). Matt Tholis (fr. Montgomery, NJ/Montgomery) and Sean Corey (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) followed second (193’ 1”, 58.85 meters) and third (191’ 5”, 58.34 meters) respectively. All three athletes recorded NCAA provisional throws (188’ 8”, 57.50 meters). Biehn’s top throw of 204’ 6” (62.34 meters) came at the NYC Qualifying Challenge (May 9). Corey had 198’ 9” (60.58 meters) at the Wake Forest Open (Mar. 20) and Tholis’ best toss of 198’ 7” (60.54 meters) was at the Lions’ Invitational (Apr. 25).
Kevin Gauntt (jr. Marlton, NJ/Seneca) finished fifth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.47). Greg Kuczynski (sr. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) took 21st in the 5000 meters (15:32.41). For the women, Colette Lortz (fr. Sussex, NJ/Vernon Twp.) and Dannielle Warren (jr. Woodbury, NJ/Woodbury) were fifth (16’ 10.5”, 5.14 meters) and sixth (16’ 10.5”, 5.14 meters) respectively in the long jump.
The NCAA Division III Championships are on Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23 at Marietta College in Marietta, OH.
