Three Profs Earn NJAC All-Conference Honors

GLASSBORO, NJ – Three Rowan University baseball players earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Conference honors.

First baseman Tom Ready (sr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) was selected to the All-Conference first team. Right fielder John McMullin (sr. Woodbury, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) collected second team honors, while center fielder Garrett Mull (sr. Chatsworth, NJ/Lenape) received honorable mention.

A co-captain, Ready leads the Profs with 34 runs scored. He is second on the team with 36 RBIs and third with a .372 batting average. Ready’s extra base hits include eight doubles and four home runs. He has a team best 204 putouts and a .982 fielding percentage. In the conference-only statistics, Ready is eighth in total bases (45), ninth in slugging percentage (.634) and 16th in batting average (.394). He is tied for seventh in home runs (4), tied for eighth in runs scored (21) and tied for 13th in hits (28). This is Ready’s third All-Conference honor. Last year, he was selected to the second team and he was chosen to the first team in 2007.

McMullin is Rowan’s top hitter with a .401 batting average, 45 RBIs, 13 doubles and a .570 slugging percentage. He has also compiled 28 runs scored, three home runs and one triple. McMullin ranks fourth in the conference-only statistics with 26 RBIs. He is ninth in total bases (44) and 11th in batting average (.403). McMullin is tied for eighth in doubles (7), tied for ninth in hits (31) and tied for 16th in slugging percentage (.571). This is his second straight NJAC All-Conference second team selection.

Mull is hitting .336 with 32 runs scored and 21 RBIs. He is second on the team with 11 doubles. Mull also has three home runs, one triple and 11 stolen bases (13 attempts). He is tied for third in the conference-only stats with nine doubles. Mull is tied for seventh in stolen bases (4) and tied for 16th in RBIs (16) and slugging percentage (.571). He ranks 19th in total bases (40). Mull also received All-Conference honorable mention in 2008.

The Profs have a 20-14-1 overall record. In the NJAC Championship Tournament, Rowan travels to Ramapo College on Thursday, April 30 for a 3:30 p.m. game.
