MEDFORD, MA – The Rowan University indoor track teams competed at the final day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Saturday. The two-day championships were held at the Gantcher Center on the campus of Tufts University.

Kevin Gauntt (jr. Marlton, NJ/Seneca) came in second in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.81. Kyle Hayes (so. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) took third place in the long jump with a leap of 22’ 5.75” (6.85 meters).

Heidi DeGuzman (fr. Central Islip, NY/Pennsauken) finished seventh in the 55 meter dash in 7.33. Lisa Jones (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) had a seventh place in the 1000 meters (3:07.02). The women’s 4x800 meter relay was ninth with a time of 9:56.31 which was a school record. The previous mark was 10:07.07 from earlier this season. The relay included Jones, Amira Abdullah (fr. Erial, NJ/Timber Creek), Alli Catenacci (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) and Eileen O’Mara (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.).

The Rowan men were tied for 24th in the team scoring with only Gaunt and Hayes competing. The women were tied for 34th overall with DeGuzman and Jones in the individual events and three relay teams. There were a total of 50 men and 51 women teams competing at the ECAC Championships.
