Kuczynski Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and Rowan Receives All-Academic Team Honors
GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University’s Greg Kuczynski was named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross County Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA) 2008 Cross Country All-Academic Team. The men’s cross country team received All-Academic Team honors.
Kuczynski (sr. Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Mem.) was one of 131 student-athletes that were selected to the USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Team. He has a 3.947 grade point average (GPA) and is majoring in civil and environmental engineering. This was the third straight year he was chosen to the All-Academic Team. Student-athletes must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
In the fall, Kuczynski was selected to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men’s Cross Country Team for the third time. He earned his fourth consecutive All-Conference second team honor at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships. Kuczynski finished eighth overall at the conference championships in 26:22.80 on the 8K course. He came in 56th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional with a time of 27:20. Kuczynski won the Delaware Invitational (27:04). He ran season bests of 26:22.80 in the 8K and 19:50.70 in the 6K.
This is the seventh straight and 13th overall All-Academic honor for the men’s cross country team. Rowan had a combined GPA of 3.33 among the 103 Division III men’s cross country programs that received the honor. For a team to receive All-Academic, it must have competed and compiled a team score at the NCAA Regional and have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative GPA.
