GLASSBORO, NJ – Four Rowan University football players earned D3football.com All-East Region Team honors.

Punter Andrew Smith (sr. Howell, NJ/Freehold Twp.) was named to the All-East Region second team. Quarterback Frank Wilczynski (sr. Pine Hill, NJ/Overbrook), offensive tackle Ken Siano (sr. Port Reading, NJ/Woodbridge) and linebacker Andrew Yezzi (sr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) were chosen to the All-Region third team.

Smith totaled 2,216 yards on 56 punts for a 39.6 average. He had a long punt of 80 yards. Smith recorded 24 punts inside the 20 yard line and forced 13 fair catches. His punting average ranked third New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and 18th in the NCAA Division III statistics.

Wilczynski led Rowan with 1,456 yards passing and 11 touchdowns with 117 completions in 207 attempts. He was also the Profs’ top rusher with 793 yards and 15 touchdowns on 91 carries. Wilczynski holds the school records for career rushing yards by a quarterback (1,596 yards on 207 rushes), longest gain by a quarterback in a game (68 yards vs. Western Connecticut State, October 10, 2009) and most rushing touchdowns in a season (15 in 2009). In the NJAC, he was first in scoring (10.0), second in rushing (88.1) and total offense (249.9), fifth in pass efficiency (128.3), sixth in passing (161.8) and ninth in all-purpose yards (88.1). Wilczynski ranks 13th in the NCAA in scoring (10.0), 55th in total offense (249.89), 67th in rushing (88.11) and 84th in pass efficiency (128.31). He was a NJAC All-Conference first team selection.

Siano started all 10 games on the Profs’ offense line. He anchored a unit that ranked first in the conference in scoring (38.9) and rushing (239.5). Rowan was second in sacks against (8) and total offense (408.7). In the NCAA, the Profs are 12th in scoring (38.9), 16th in rushing (239.5) and 44th in total offense (408.7). Siano received NJAC All-Conference first team honors.

Yezzi led the Profs in tackles for the third straight season. In nine games this year, he compiled 78 stops, 32 solo and 46 assisted. Yezzi was also first on the squad with 18 tackles for a loss (-78 yards). He totaled 5.5 sacks (-47 yards), three interceptions, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Yezzi returned one pick for a touchdown. In the NJAC, he ranked second in forced fumbles (3), third in tackles for a loss (18.0), fifth in tackles (8.7), seventh in sacks (5.5) and 11th in passes defended (7). Yezzi was tied for ninth in interceptions (3). In the NCAA statistics, he is sixth with 2.0 tackles for a loss per game. He was named to the NJAC All-Conference first team defense. Yezzi was selected the Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey Rowan University Player of the Year.

Rowan finished the season with a 7-3 record.
