NJAC All-Conference Team
PITMAN, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had two players that received New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Conference honors. Outside hitter Katie Havlicek was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year.
Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) was also chosen to the NJAC All-Conference second team. Middle blocker Chelsea Bowman (sr. Penns Grove, NJ/Park Bible Academy) received NJAC All-Conference honorable mention.
This season, Havlicek totaled 333 kills for a .231 hitting percentage. She averaged 3.17 kills per set. Havlicek also compiled 340 digs, 37 service aces and 22 blocks. During the year, she was selected the NJAC Rookie of the Week eight of the nine weeks. In the overall conference statistics, Havlicek is ranked fourth in kills (3.17) and seventh in digs (3.24). She is also 12th in hitting percentage (.231).
Bowman registered 235 kills and had a 2.24 kills per set average. She recorded a .215 hitting percentage. Bowman was the team’s block leader with 54. In addition, she accumulated 111 digs and 33 service aces. In the NJAC, she was ranked ninth in blocks (0.50), 12th in kills (2.24) and 16th in hitting percentage (.215).
Rowan ended the season with a 13-17 record. The Profs qualified for the NJAC Championship Tournament as the fifth seed. It was the women’s volleyball team’s 13th appearance in the conference tournament and third straight.
