NJAC All-Conference Team
PITMAN, NJ – Five Rowan University men’s soccer players earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Conference honors. Charlie Cunliffe was selected the NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year.
Cunliffe (jr. Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) was named to the All-Conference first team. Forward Julian Berrios (fr. Lakewood, NJ/Calvary Academy) and backs Jason Dugan (sr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City) and Randy Kohr (jr. Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) were chosen to the second team. Forward Mike Pascale (sr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) received All-Conference honorable mention.
In 19 games, Cunliffe has totaled 112 saves and seven shutouts. He leads the conference with an 86.8 save percentage, which also ranks 19th in the NCAA Division III national statistics. Cunliffe is second in the NJAC in saves (112) and saves per game (5.89). He is tied for second in shutouts (seven) and fourth in goals against average (0.91). This is his first All-Conference selection.
In his rookie season, Berrios has compiled nine points with three goals and three assists. He has one game-winning goal. In the conference, Berrios is tied for 20th in assists (three) and tied for 24th in assists per game (0.18).
Dugan and Kohr are both team captains. They lead the Profs’ defense that is second in the conference in saves (122), fourth in goals against average (1.02) and fifth in goals allowed (20). Rowan is tied for fourth in shutouts (seven). Kohr has recorded four points with two goals, while Dugan has 10 points on four goals and two assists. Kohr earned All-Conference honorable mention in 2008 and 2007.
Pascale leads the Profs with 15 points. He has six goals and three assists with two game-winning goals. In the conference, Pascale is tied for 11th in goals (six), tied for 12th in game-winning goals (two), tied for 13th in points (15), tied for 20th in assists (three) and tied for 23rd in points per game (0.79). He ranks 20th in goals per game (0.32). This is the first All-Conference honor for Pascale, Berrios and Dugan.
Rowan (12-5-2) is the third seed in the NJAC Championship Tournament. The Profs travel to the second seed The College of New Jersey (7-5-4) for the semifinals on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. The final is scheduled for Saturday, November 7. The NJAC champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
