Peacock, Rawls and DuBois Collect All-Regional Honors

GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University had three cross country runners that earned All-Regional honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The top 35 finishers at the eight NCAA Regionals were named to the All-Regional Teams.

Jena Peacock (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy), Jenn Rawls (fr. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) and Eric DuBois (so. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) were members of the Atlantic All-Regional Teams. At the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional (Nov. 14), Peacock finished second with a time of 21:38.4 and she qualified for the national championships. The 6K course was at the Highbanks Recreation Area in Letchworth State Park in Mount Morris, NY.

Rawls took 22nd in 22:56.1. The women came in 10th place (33 schools) in the team scoring and the men were 15th (38 schools). DuBois was 34th overall with a time of 26:13.0 in the 8K race.

This season, Peacock was the individual champion at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships. She won the 6K race in 22:03.90 to earn the conference’s Runner of the Year award. Peacock was on the NJAC All-Conference first team for the second straight season. She ran a winning time of 22:54.32 at the DeSales Invitational. In addition, Peacock had second places at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships (21:56.61) and the Sea Gull Invitational (22:20). She earned NJAC Runner of the Week six times this season.

Rawls did not compete at the conference championship meet. She won the CTC Championships (21:53.58) and the Sea Gull Invitational (21:47). Rawls finished second at the UMass Invitational (17:59) which was a 5K race. Seven times she was selected the NJAC Rookie of the Week.

DuBois was seventh (27:06.52) at the conference championships to earn NJAC All-Conference first team honors. He missed the first three meets because he was coming off an injury. DuBois finished 13th (27:05.86) at the CTC Championships.

The NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Saturday, November 21 at the Highland Hills Golf Course in Berea, OH. The women’s race is at 11 a.m. and the men follow at noon. The national championships are hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College.
