Four Players Earn Longstreth/NFHCA South Atlantic All-Region Honors

Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-Region Teams
GLASSBORO, NJ – Four Rowan University field hockey players received Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III South Atlantic All-Region honors.
Back Kacey Ehret (sr. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood), midfielder Jenna Lombardo (sr. Barnegat, NJ/Southern Reg.) and forward Lauren Ross (jr. Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) were named to the All-Region first team. Back Lauren Conner (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) earned second team honors. This is the first All-Region selection for all four players.
A team co-captain, Ehret was the Profs’ defensive leader. Rowan held its opponents to 25 goals in 19 games for a 1.30 goals against average. In the conference, Ehret was tied for for 11th in defender saves (2). She was chosen the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference first team.
Lombardo was also a captain. She recorded eight points with one goal and six assists. Lombardo was tied for third in the NJAC in assists (6) and tied for fourth in assists per game (0.33). She was selected to play in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game on Saturday, November 22 at Mount Holyoke College in Hadley, MA. Lombardo collected NJAC Midfielder of the Year honors and was named to the All-Conference first team.
Ross was the Profs’ leading scorer with 38 points. She registered a team-high 18 goals, including four game-winners, and two assists. In the latest NCAA statistics (Nov. 8), Ross was 22nd in goals per game (1.0) and 36th in points per game (2.11). She was tied for first in the conference in goals (18) and tied for third in game-winning goals (4). Ross ranked third in points (38), points per game (2.0) and goals per game (0.95). She was selected the NJAC Attack Player of the Year and earned All-Conference first team honors.
In her second season, Conner compiled eight points with three goals and two assists. She had one game-winning goal. Rowan’s defense posted seven shutouts this season. Conner was an All-Conference first team honoree.
Rowan finished the season with a 14-5 record. The Profs won the NJAC Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
