CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday. The women finished second overall and the men took seventh place.
Jena Peacock (so. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) won the women’s race. She had a time of 22:54.32 on the 6K course. Jenn Rawls (fr. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) took eighth place (23:43.15). Joy Hanke (fr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) finished 15th (24:38.46). Laura O’Mara (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) was 39th (25:28.38) and Eileen O’Mara (so. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) came in 46th (25:38.60).
Jake McCormick (so. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) was the first Prof to cross the finish line for the men. He finished 13th with a time of 27:25.65 over the 8K course. Eric DuBois (so. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) was 44th (28:18.11) followed by Brian Quilty (jr. Brick, NJ/Saint Rose) 46th (28:20.25). Michael Carotenuto (fr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) came in 60th (28:41.89) and Ryan Montaperto (fr. Aberdeen, NJ/Matawan Reg.) was 82nd (29:20.72).
Next week, Rowan will compete at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Saturday, October 10 at 11 a.m. The championships are at Richard Stockton College.
