BETHLEHEM, PA – The Rowan University men’s and women’s indoor track teams competed at the Lehigh Covert Classic on Saturday. The Prof men finished eighth overall while the women took 11th place. The meet was hosted by Lehigh University.
Kyle Hayes (so. Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro) won the long jump with a leap of 22’ 7.25” (6.89 meters). Heidi DeGuzman (fr. Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) recorded a winning time of 7.98 in the 60 meter dash. She also had a seventh place in the 200 meters (27.33).
Nehemiah Burney-Porter (jr. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains) had a third place in the triple jump with a distance of 42’ 9.50” (13.04 meters). Kevin Gauntt (jr. Marlton, NJ/Seneca) took sixth place in the 60 meter hurdles (9.09). He also came in 14th in the long jump (18’ 11.75”, 5.78 meters). Jayce Maxwell (fr. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) finished seventh in the 200 meters (23.52) and 12th in the 400 meters (53.64). Ben Bradley (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) was 12th in the 500 meters (1:13.16). Dan Collier (jr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) finished 18th in the 800 meters (2:04.25).
The men’s 4x400 meter relay had a ninth place finish with a time of 3:38.89. The relay consisted of Bradley, Collier, Maxwell and Brian Makinson (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson). The women’s 4x800 meter relay took fourth (10:19.01) with Lisa Jones (jr. Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest), Eileen O’Mara (fr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield, NJ), Jena Peacock (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy Academy) and Alli Catenacci (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.).
Amira Muneer (fr. Ewing, NJ/Ewing) had an eighth place in the 500 meter dash (1:24.32) and she was 10th in the 200 meters (27.56). Peacock was 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:31.87. In the one mile, Jones finished 12th (5:38.19) and O’Mara followed in 14th place (5:39.87). Catenacci came in 13th in the 500 meters (1:26.04).
