POMONA, NJ – The Rowan University women’s cross country team took third place at the
New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) Invitational on Saturday. The invitational course was 6K and it was held at Richard Stockton College.
The Profs finished the meet with 61 points. Georgian Court College won the team title (33 points) followed by Richard Stockton second (37 points). There were a total of nine teams competing at the invitational.
Raneeka Doharty (fr. Orange, NJ/Orange) was the first runner to cross the finish line for Rowan. Doharty finished eighth with a time of 25:18.04. Liz Guarini (so. Steinertville, NJ/Steinert) was 11th (25:54.86) and Jessica Obrock (fr. Enola, PA/E. Pennsboro Area) came in 14th (26:01.87). Lori Oglesby (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Buena Reg.) and Amira Abdullah (fr. Erial, NJ/Timber Creek) were 16th (26:13.70) and 17th (26:14.94) respectively.
Next week, the Rowan men’s and women’s cross country teams travel to Lehigh University on Friday, October 3 for the Paul Short Run.
